Teatro di Milano

The project proposes a monolithic concrete theatre in Piazzale Loreto, conceived as a squared and monumental urban composition. Strategically oriented along the axis of Viale Andrea Doria toward Milano Centrale, the building establishes a strong visual connection with the piazza, reinforcing its role as a major urban node.

Positioned above the Loreto metro station (Red Line), the theatre integrates directly with the city’s transportation infrastructure, enhancing accessibility while consolidating the civic importance of the site. Its compact geometric form ensures visibility from multiple urban axes, asserting the building as a clear landmark within the dense Milanese context.

A linear concrete pavilion extends along Viale Andrea Doria, guiding visitors toward the theatre entrance and the metro access below. This urban element culminates at the existing partisan memorial in Piazzale Loreto, framing it within a continuous architectural sequence. Through mass, alignment, and procession, the project establishes a dialogue between infrastructure, public space, and collective memory.
